There is only one Brana Wolf – Super Stylist, good friend and godmother to my daughter. Although we were fellow editors at Vogue and Bazaar, we didn’t truly know each other well until we worked on fashion shows together. I cast a number of Louis Vuitton and Zac Posen shows for Brana. The shows are glamorous, but the production is hard work, unbelievably long hours and often grueling. Brana is a force of nature when styling a show, absolutely awe inspiring. But it is Brana’s personal style that is flawless and has been my compass. Her Harper’s Bazaar stories are the ones where I find the items I cannot live without and will love forever. When I am in doubt, I channel Brana!
A few thoughts from the Super Stylist:
P: What inspires you these days?
B: Simplicity and the absence of clutter.
P: What are you obsessed with now? What do you think it will be in 6 months?
B: Wearing clothes from my closet that I haven’t worn in 20 years! They feel new and interesting again. And eyewear frames. I wear glasses so I am always on the hunt for the perfect frames, new and vintage. In 6 months I feel that I might be obsessed with color. The older I get the more interested I am in experimenting with colors I have never considered before.
P: What is your current uniform?
B: In this weather a Prada cashmere turtleneck, ( grey or navy) Helmut Lang men’s pants and black rubber soled Demeulemester biker boots,
and a Michael Kors mink lined parka with a coyote fur hood or my new flesh-colored Celine coat.
P: What would you steal from Michael’s collection today?
B: The camel double breasted crushed cashmere coat with an elbow slit.
