James Lecce, Artist

Gateway, 2010

I love James Lecce’s paintings because they are so fluid. The technique he has developed to create this fluidity gives his work a great feeling of movement and liquidness. The swirling shapes and macro view make you think that each painting is a snapshot of an infinitely larger and ever moving entity. The interplay of positive and negative space draws the viewer in and around the canvas-  there is no beginning and no end. I find James’ paintings playful and mesmerizing and definitely worth a look!  My friend James Lecce’s show is up at the Mckenzie Fine Art gallery until June 12th.
