Meg Braff, Interior Designer

Meg Braff

Meg is one of those women- a successful business woman with a great husband and four sons- who makes it all look so easy. A renowned interior designer based in New York, Meg recently launched a line of gorgeous wallpapers under her MBD label, an extension of Meg Braff Interiors.

This Tupelo, Mississippi native does everything with panache and a sense of humor which may be the secret to her success. I have gotten to know Meg through our childrens’ school, Palm Beach and sundry events and could not wait to profile her and find out how she keeps it all together.

Inspiration: Travel! Over Christmas we spent two weeks in Paris and Egypt. It was so inspiring to experience all of the rich history and architecture. I found myself photographing fantastic marble layouts in Versailles and the Louvre.

Current Uniform and Daily Essentials: For a typical work day I am in a Michael Kors black skirt and a pretty feminine blouse of choice. I love wedges. My daily essentials are my Blackberry, IPad, Ipod, and my camera! I find that taking pictures of furniture, lighting, or even a fabulous dress can be great for the archives when you are looking for inspiration.

Hostess Gifts: I really like to give a hostess something personalized that shows a bit of forethought. Note cards, paper guest towels and notepads with the name of their house are great ideas.  I also think photographs are still one of the kindest gestures for a friend or host.

How to Balance Work/Life:  Being organized and my blackberry is key to that. I am constantly drafting lists that can be easily accessed or copied and pasted. I have packing lists for every type of vacation, grocery lists, to do lists, work task lists. It keeps me focused and fewer things fall through the cracks.
