She wore McQueen

Kate Mountbatten-Windsort
I am not much for wedding dresses but the fact that Kate wore Alexander McQueen, designed by his protegè, Sarah Burton, was a poignant move. The dress was classic in style, but comes from a designer who is known for fantastical flights of fancy. (On an aside–I’m quite sure I saw a fleeting glimpse of Sarah, rearranging Kate’s dress right before she walked down the aisle.)
Alexander McQueen, the designer, was one of most creative design forces to come out of England. Sadly, he committed suicide last year. On Monday, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute will have its annual gala, which is this year, dedicated to McQueen.
Burton has now linked his name with the wedding of the decade (if not century). You know, somewhere, he is smiling.

To be very honest, don’t get me wrong it’s a pretty dress, but it is not memorable or “MCQUEEN!!!!” if you know what I mean. This dress could have been done by anyone.
I do agree with Pret a Porter P!! When I hear AMcQ’s name, (on CNN they mentioned the dress is from House of McQueen), I expect lots of drama. I know Kate wanted something classic and simple, but I wish that Ms. Burton would have shown a little bit of McQ in the classic design!!
I’m thinking Kate Middleton stayed true to herself in the design of her wedding gown..she favors simple lines and chose classic and elegant…a bit safe, yes…not exactly a true McQueen but beautiful none the less….Bravo, beautiful and British..
