A small twist

There is one tiny, micro-trend for fall that is nothing new, but has caught my eye. It is the tie-neck blouse or dress. What I like about a tie-neck is that is is feminine, but not overtly frilly (as I have mentioned before, I feel somewhat ridiculous in most frills), sexy in that 70s way, and works well with a blazer or cardigan thrown over it, and even the most casual of jeans on the bottom.

Where can you find them? They’ve become ubiquitous in a good way. I’ve got my eye on The Row’s Judd dress (see below) because it’s so easy–a cuff or earrings, a pair of heels or booties. There is also a Judd blouse. (Perhaps I need both?!) Chloé has the most gorgeous yellow dress with a tie-top and many blouses as well. There are pieces by Theory and so on.

Expect to see the loose ends of tie-necks fluttering about everywhere come fall.
