I met the former model and fashion blogger Hanneli the other day. Besides being gorgeous and fun, she’s also a girls’ girl and we started gabbing about beauty advice, of which she had some very useful tips. The one I really glommed onto was about giving volume to limp hair. My hair is straight. Always. Even in the rain. Hanneli’s is somewhat similar.

Her advice: Beach hair spray/oil on the ends, dry shampoo at the roots. Yesterday I ran to Sephora and bought Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, along with Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray. Neither product is gunky. And I admit I am thrilled with the results. I didn’t want to overdo it today, but admit I could have been more liberal in the use of both.
