Small thoughts, updates and ideas on my mind now….
Change is good, although I am usually reluctant to do so. But sometimes, necessity and chance lead to improvements big and small. Here are 3 small changes I made recently that resulted in big improvements.
1) A new iPad case. I have been using an envelope style that was a giveaway from a business breakfast. It’s pretty, but it’s also pretty annoying and not practical in the least. When I take the iPad out, like the girls above, it is completely unprotected. For a while now, I’ve had my eye on a DODOcase which is handmade in San Francisco in the century old bookbinding tradition. My daughter thankfully talked me out of black and I could not be more pleased with the craftsmanship and design.
2) A scent surprise. Last week a friend gave me Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom body creme and I had an aha moment. Since the beginning of time, I have used only fragrance free products. My reasoning is that nothing should compete with my perfume. But curiosity got the better of me- I opened it up, slathered it on and boy is it transporting (as in it smells like Antigua in a jar). Best of all, it mixes perfectly with my favorite Annick Goutal scent.
3) Salad for breakfast. Gwyneth Paltrow’s most recent newsletter, on her blog GOOP, focuses on breakfast foods that keep you energized throughout the day. I have been struggling with afternoon fatigue so I found this post very interesting. Sugar, gluten, caffeine and dairy are big no no’s that I am trying to eliminate and I have started eating eggs or chicken with salad for breakfast. I am happy to say, I am less exhausted and have more pep.
