On the fringe

Jane Birkin
Everyone keeps talking about the bun, but I’m really keen on bangs right now. Who wouldn’t be inspired by these three women. With longer hair, this is a great look.

It’s not for everyone! I get seduced by this look once every 5 years or so and then regret it within the week. lol

I agree. Bangs are high maintenance though to maintain at just the right length and buns are essentially no maintenance. No surprise the bun wins!
I find that a straight bang looks really frumpy on me. I need to go either very short or longer and sideswept.
BTW, I’ve only recently discovered KiC (must have been living in a cave), and am enjoying perusing your archives! Great content!
I think I am going to try and wear my hair like Alexa’s – right now I have a heavy bang, but I should try and be more modern? Love your blog!
I’ve worn bangs since I had hair.
I think there may be a reason these three photographs are of brunettes. As a blonde I feel like it turns me into Suzanne Sommers no matter how good the cut. Love your blog, by the way. Thanks.
Bangtox!!!
Ach, I just wrote this post for next week with two of the same pics!
I’m swithering over a fringe just now.
Like Kathy, I have had bangs all of my life…..and have lately been looking for a “no bangs” look!
I am with both Kathy and Sheri–I have had bangs since I was a baby. They are a necessity with my face shape (and wide forehead, boo hiss). I love a longer sideswept bang and a deep side part. That picture of Francoise shows my bangs ideal!
I love a bun with bangs. I have had bangs for a few years and then grew them out over the summer. Hated every minute and went straight back to the salon to get my bangs back. I feel like me again!
yes to the bangs, no on the move to Brooklyn. xx
