Wear Now, Wear Later: The Sleeveless Dress

I’ve had ‘ladylike’ on my mind recently. Ironically, as I get older, I’m not as drawn to super feminine and fastidiously put-together looks– I worry they age me. But there are times and places where I need to look polished and grown-up, and ladylike actually suits me.
A dress is always a safe bet and this season there are a plethora of good ones. However, the best ones are, for the most part, sleeveless. I have never been a huge fan of sleeveless, but a feather-weight cardigan thrown over my shoulders makes it feel less bare. Or a trim little jacket works too, at least until the weather warms up.

They are all good looking dresses. Today, in the cold, the one with the cardi looks best! I also like the sleeveless look, but wish there were more options sleevewise these days. We don’t all make it to the gym as often as we should and a bit of stylish coverage would be appreciated.
I also love the shoes with the black lattice dress, very polished look!
I have a cashmere capelet that I love to wear with my Marie Saint Pierre sleeveless dress.
Can you or anyone suggest some great sweaters or capelets to wear with sleeveless dresses. I find it so difficult to find something to cover these beautiful dresses without taking away from their style. http://www.sosayssimone.wordpress.com
I wear J. Crew cashmere cardigans in a size too small over my sleeveless dresses. They are lightweight, I push up the sleeves and never button. They are also good thrown over your shoulder with the top buttoned to keep it from sliding off.
