Scents of Spring

One of my spring rituals is to try new fragrances. Annick Goutal’s Mandragore has been my signature scent for years, but every so often I get the urge to try something new. The recently launched colognes by Annick Goutal sound light and summery, but I think it’s time I tried the Frederic Malle perfumes, my friends rave about them.

  • I always switch up my fragrances with the seasons, fall/winter and spring/summer. Though the weather here in Toronto hasn’t been feeling very spring-like yet, I’m putting away my winter stash and bringing out my warm weather scents.

I’m trying out the new Jour D’Hermes (samples) and loving it, so I think that will become my warm-weather go to this year. Going to have to go out and buy it!

  • You must try Yvress by! It has a small following and is only available at YSL.
It opens up all day and changes slightly depending on hot or cold weather. I have people constantly follow me to ask what I’m wearing .
It’s been my signature for 15 years

  • @ Alicia- My mother in law has been wearing Yvress for years and it’s becoming hard to find!

I love Tom Ford’s Vanila Tobbac, it’s so sexy and masculine by being very feminin at the same time, if that would even make sense.

  • I hope the above photos don’t mean the packaging for Annick Goutal has changed . . . they had quite possibly the most beautiful bottle shapes, lids, and labels of any fragrance on the market. They are, of course, now owned by Estee Lauder, so it could begin to take on the mass marketing look and feel of everything else. Hate the bottlel shapes and tops above– : (

  • I was wondering about the look of the Annick Goutal bottles pictured above too…they were so charming before and the ones above not so much. And how is everyone misting themselves these days since I have pretty muched stopped wearing any scent because I find most other peoples scents offensive to smell and be around.

  • I don’t like the change in the AG bottles much either. Have you ever tried Le Labo?

  • I think the new colognes come in this bottle shape, they are described as ‘splashes’, and the perfumes will be in the original bottle.

  • I have the Dries and I love it. Very addictive, a little sweet and vanilla-y but not overpoweringly so. But a friend called it ‘underwhelming’!

  • I always enjoy discussing fragrances. Annick Goutal has wonderful scents. Eau du Sud, is a great one for warmer weather. I also wear alot of Hermes fragrances. Please consider trying Pampamousse Rose. Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, is one that I reach for, as well.
