Site Reading

I want to thank the authors of sites that inspire me every day:

I follow Habitually Chic and link to Heather’s posts often. I am not an interior designer and love her insight into that world.

Barneys’ The Window is so well written and art directed, a must-read.

I love the randomness of RDuJour, and you get a sense of the author through her choice of posts.

The Tory Burch blog is the best source for must-see exhibitions.

That’s Not My Age makes me laugh– I love her ‘voice’ and we have actually become friends since I covered her great site last year.

Garance Dore wows me with her illustrations and photographs. Her candid sharing of anything personal is far braver than my musings!

Into The Gloss is my go-to beauty site. I talk openly about being beauty challenged and ITG introduces me to products that I would not know about otherwise.

Tamu McPherson, a photographer and magazine editor based in Milan, shares her inspirations with us on her fab site All The Pretty Birds.

I don’t follow many blogs where the author shows off outfits daily, but I like The Northern Light because Hedvig has great style and is a grown up. She actually just had a baby and I give her credit for getting right back to work. I cast a Louis Vuitton show six weeks after giving birth and it was tough.

They All Hate Us is a duo of sexy Aussies who scour the web for great pics.

Mark D. Sikes does great round-up posts on all things chic.

Ridgely of Ridgely’s Radar is not only a dear friend, but a great source for new books and yummy recipes.

Amanda Brooks may be currently living on a farm in England, but her posts on I Love Your Style are always spot-on.

And a special thanks to the blessed magazines: Paris Vogue, Vogue, WSJ., Self Service, The GentlewomanW, T mag and Harper’s Bazaar– what would I do without you?

I’m always looking for inspiration, what are your 3 top must-visit sites?

  1. I love visiting your site and reading your posts. The Edit at Net-a-Porter and The Sartorialist, among other of course.

  2. For fashion/style category, here they are:

    1 – Garance Doré (number 1, number 1, number 1)
    2 – Keep it Chic :) ) – simple and light!
3 – I Love Your Style (Amanda Brooks’) – I really love her style!!

There are many other blogs/sites that inspire, of course (for food, design, lifestyle, …), but these 3 are the ones that really match my sensibility/lifestyle.

  10. I always enjoy reading your posts. I love your very refined sense of who you are and what you like to wear. I cannot wear many of the things that appeal too you, but your strong editorial sense comes through and inspires me to have my own focus.

  11. Hi, I’m a new reader (love what you do here!), big thanks for the new blog inspiration. My reads:

*Australian design blog The Design Files; lots of indie designers/makers in fields of furniture, lighting, fashion, art, interiors
*Into the Gloss: I’m a beauty junky, it’s so unfair that all products sooo expensive here in Australia??

Plus love vogue (AU,UK,USA,FR) & Australian Vogue Living and …Keep It Chic, bien sur!

  12. Is it horribly cheeky to put my own blog down here?? I think it is, but I am feeling horribly cheeky on this gorgeously sunny Hong Kong morning. Your blog is the best of all Preston. So to the point, it’s wonderful how you manage to convey so much with so few words.

  16. http://atlantic-pacific.blogspot.com/

Although I don’t check this out regularly, I know it is very popular as a blog for daily outfits. The woman always looks great and its about nothing more than pure fashion.

  17. That’s Not My Age (of course), British Beauty Blogger (the only other blog I subscribe to aside from KIC) and Twitter (no, not a blog but I get ALL my fashion news from there now). A very clever Tumblr to check out is ShitBloggersWear but may be a bit young for you. Good though!

    2. Jayne Min StopIt Right Now http://www.stopitrightnow.com/
    3. The various Of A Kind blogs, like Stuff We Love http://www.ofakind.com/loves

I have nothing in common with the women who write any of these, but I like to see what they’re doing.
