Leta Austin Foster

An early KiC follower and dear friend, interior designer Leta Austin Foster is one of my work ethic idols. Although she founded her eponymous design firm over 35 years ago, Leta is currently busier than ever. With interior design jobs all over the globe, an adorable Palm Beach shop, and a line of custom linens, Leta is constantly on the go. And the best bit? She’s a blogger! Leta’s site Decorating with Sheets is a fun read.

Lucky for me, Leta is up here hosting a linens trunk show tomorrow and Saturday. Beautifully embroidered linens are the ultimate hostess gift, and the fastest way to spruce up a summer rental is gorgeous hand towels and bedding.

  • Perfect timing! I’m heading down to Palm Beach over Fourth of July weekend (hot and steamy!) and always plan a visit Worth Avenue and the vias off the street. I know I’ve passed her boutique in the past, but now I’ll make a point of going in to see some lovely sheets and other home décor items.

p.s., I know you frequent Palm Beach often… any other recommendations of shops to visit? You’ve previously mentioned Gypsy.

  • This woman is amazing! It is also a wonderful family business with her daughter Sallie Giordano running the NYC design office and her daughter Lizzie running an L.A. office. A creative family!

  • I love these posts which include real life people of inspiration and sense of industry/creative direction…. To see the person behind the creative panache is far more exciting than sometimes the clothes themselves…. Thank you, it gives your posts a great sense of reality and soul.

  • Their family is amazing! Lizzie has so much talent! She must have learned some of it from her Mom!
