My summer standard

Image via Tumblr

The braid is the new bun. I tried a low, messy twist and felt a bit like an unmade bed. In the summer I let my hair grow quite long and a braid keeps it neat and tidy.

  • Love your blog and couldn’t help notice how great your highlights look in the braid pic which I’m assuming is u. Where do u get your highlights done? Also completely agree w being comfortable when u fly – flying has become so torturous. Comfortably chic works.

  • Indeed it is, and this low, loose version is super chic. I just posted two “braid” shots this week, spotted in San Jose and New York.

  • Braids as a style have really developed amazing longevity! I’m thinking back to my riot grrl braids of the 90s … but my current thing is a braided bun ornamented with Jane Tran clips.

  • This braid (and similar slightly messy ones) are definitely casually chic ! I have lurked on this blog for a while and love it!

  • Hi Preston – I thought that fabulous braid was yours. Guess I misunderstood the “neat and tidy” reference. Nonetheless – braid or no braid – I do enjoy your blog!
