I’m Hooked!

Chanel FW13 campaign

Chanel FW13 campaign

When I came across this image from the Chanel FW13 campaign yesterday, I laughed out loud. Not only have my daughters been knitting up a storm this summer, I am totally smitten with crocheted pieces as well. I love the open feel. Although an avowed anti vintage shopper, I found the most incredible crocheted cape below this spring. Throughout the summer I wore it over a swimsuit and shorts and will definitely keep wearing it into the fall.

  • I am so glad there has been a renewed interest in hand crafts. Passing these skills on to young people is how they stay alive, and for a while it looked like it wasn’t going to happen. Embroidery and needlepoint are also being reenergized.

  • My grandmother made shawls for everyone back in the 1970’s. I saved two of the baby sets she made and just past one on to my first grandchild. Perhaps I should have held on to the shawls too. Who knew…..

  • I’m a big knitter as well. It’s like meditation for me. Love your crocheted cape. I have the same Fendi sandals and wear them all the time.

  • I love the idea of a loose knit poncho over a bathing suit…so unexpected and chic!
