Show Restraint

Fashion week in NY is on it’s last day and this season I made a pledge to not chronicle every moment. My intention was to wait until the final finale to post a NYFW wrap-up. But the Narciso Rodriguez show was so beautiful, I decided not to wait.

So without further ado, my favorite looks from this simple, pretty and sexy collection.

  • Lovely clothes by Narciso, clean and elegant. And kudos to him for the diversity of the models in his show. I read that there was a lot of brou-ha-ha before fashion week with model casting with many designers and casting agents seeking a pervasive amount of homogenous models (aka, white). But the diversity just enhances the clothing… I mean look at the first picture. The dress is a stand-out, but even more so against the model’s lovely skin.

fyi – I’m a white female, but even I get bored with seeing a parade of Amazonian eastern European models who are virtually indistinguishable!

  • I agree, understated elegance. Particularly attracted to the 3rd image from top.

  • Was just going to echo Monica — it’s really nice to see diversity on his runway. I already love his clothes, but seeing that he appreciates a wide spectrum of beauty makes me far more likely to buy something from him.

  • Love the clean, understated looks. They are a perfect base for accessories or worn alone for a classic minimal look!
