I want to wear this now

One of my go-to accessories right now, which I profiled in my fall uniform, is the Isabel Marant necklace.  So, when I saw wrap-around necklaces at Valentino, I had to put another look together. You know I’m into fringe and tunic-style dresses, now loafers (I’m inspired by Malgosia’s) are edging their way to the top of my run-around shoe list.

Saint Laurent bracelet, Isabel Marant dress here and here, Isabel Marant necklace, Tod’s loafer, Bottega Veneta clutch.

  • Love this.

  • Those loafers just arrived at my doorstep yesterday and can’t wait to wear them. Loafers or drivers are my choice for running around over ballet flats any day.

  • Great look – love all the pieces and the finished look!

  • Have to agree with you and Kim, much prefer loafers, brogues or smoking to ballets or reppettos for the support and “weight” in my outfits. Looooove that grey pocket dress to distraction.

  • Sorry to be so curious but what are the other two items that you have bought this fall?

  • Love all but I am 5 10 and need a dress that’s a but longer!! Any ideas!

  • MMS, I bought the IM necklace, a boxy top in black from Stella McCartney (I posted on it), and the Aquazzura pumps in black. I love and wear all three, maybe I don’t need anything else…

  • Allison, try Vince, they have a lot of dresses in this style and are hopefully cut longer for your height.

  • Love these choices and wearing loafers/oxfords with dresses/skirts is definitely better than ballets (for me). I also have a hard time finding dresses long enough…I’ll check out Vince.

  • Thanks for the post. The dress is perfection. Love the look!

  • Saw this dress earlier and fell in love instantly!!
Have a similar version of the necklace (love this one too!) and I like to wear a simple scarf underneath it …keeps the scarf in place, adds texture and depth on a simple but beautiful dress like this….can even pop with color…

  • Now that the weather is cooler, I wear loafers all the time. They’re comfortable, they’re flat, and I like the “weight” of them with short dresses.

  • The perfect outfit minus the purse. Love the necklace. You were smart to buy before it sold out! Would look great with all sorts of variations!
