Animal Attraction

I’ve never been a huge fan of leopard print, but I’m warming up to it this season. Not sure I would wear a coat à la Virginie Mouzat, but animal print booties would be fun!

  • Nah…I’d stick to your well-informed original position.

  • Honestly, I’m a little bit tired of this print…

  • I LOVE a touch of animal print in all design. The degree to which it is used informs your taste, so whatever makes you personally excited creates the most sophistication.
For me it wakes up a black, navy or khaki outfit in a completely organic way, and leopard with a jeans/white shirt/boots or flats combo-amazing!

  • I always felt that print was too aggresive until last year when I bought a pair of leopard print kitten pumps and wore them as a neutral all year long. I think it is timeless regardless of how trendy it is any given season.

  • on a vacation trip to london 23 years ago i bought a leopard cardigan with tiny pearl snaps down the front. it is wool and jacquard woven. i remember the windows were filled with the print and i resisted buying another piece because i thought it had a shelf life of 2 to 3 years at the most. i wore it to death the first year and then wore it less as it saw the print more. i haven’t worn it for several years but i haven’t given it away. i keep it front and center in a drawer i open daily. i don’t know why. my daughters are in their mid-30’s and they haven’t ever worn a leopard print garment. i remember leopard print when i was about 19 or 20 and had a blouse in the print. i just loved it. and i love my sweater. maybe when all the hoopla cools down for the print i’ll wear it again.

  • I like the boots. All in black with a bit of difference at the foot is in my view fun and stylish.
The coat works well here in my opinion as it matches the lady’s hair colour….!

  • I love it, in both fashion and home decor. Properly done it acts as a neutral. I always say nature makes the best prints!

  • LOVE leopard print even though it has now been around forever. I am always surprised at how I am drawn to it especially when worn as just one part of the outfit, i.e. coat, dress OR scarf etc.

  • Love leopard print in accessories! But I have also had a few leopard print sweaters I was quite fond of over the years …

  • I am such a fan of an animal print. I absolutely love it, yet I always limit it to a one piece in an outfit.

  • Was inspired by one of your posts showing Elle MacPherson in a tuxedo jacket, blue denim and animal print loafers to buy a pair of similar loafers before flying off to Australia for a couple of weeks in September. I found that a touch of animal print provided a great twist to my navy, black, cream and khaki travel basics. As far as the coat is concerned, I suspect you need to be Virginie or Catherine Deneuve to get away with it.
