Give me the slip — Keep it Chic by Preston Davis

Give me the slip

We’ve had a cold snap and the dry air creates a lot of static electricity. After I pull on a cashmere  turtleneck, my hair can pretty much stand on end. The solution? A slip and Static Guard are my secret weapons.

Some of the most beautiful lingerie is from Stella McCartney— it’s pretty, but not too frilly. And most importantly, it’s comfortable and designed to wear under fashion pieces (not too long, doesn’t bunch). This slip comes in off-white, and black, both necessities.

Wish I could find the small travel size, that would be good. I spray the inside of my clothing.

  • The small travel size is usually at a place like Bed Bath and Beyond..or Target in the travel size shampoos bins…also this is great to use.. a light spray on your hairbrush and then do a quick brush if your hair is prone to static cling post traveling on a plane or in winter..
Love your blog..always my fav to read..thanks!

  • Hi Preston, last time you posted on slips I thought “aha!” and bought a few in each black and cream. They have been wonderful. I have also discovered wearing half slips and these have been great for a warmer layer in winter, for anti static, for anti cling when worn with tights, for coverage in just the bottom half/skirt part for all of the sheer vintage dresses I’ve got. I did mean to say thanks for the idea regarding your earlier ‘slips’ post, and this time I will take the opportunity to do so. Thanks Preston!
