Thinking About Spring

While I was looking at product for the KiC shop this morning, I had an “aha” moment when I came across this Miu Miu denim skirt. I used to live in a denim skirt but have not worn or wanted one in a few years, blue jean cut-offs have been the major story. But I love the classic style of this skirt, the non-five-pocket-ness makes it modern. With white sneakers, the perfect hobo (time to pull out the Hermes Trims), a little camisole, and loads of gold jewelry (especially the Valentino wrap choker), this will be my spring run-around standard.

Miu Miu skirt, The Row camisole, rings, Saint Laurent sneakers, Celine bag.

  • Love this edit- simple, stylish and slightly retro. It makes me think of Jackie O. I feel I could runaround in this outfit with a cashmere cardigan for cooler days and then add a Hermes scarf and a pair of simple black suede ballet flats for a slightly more polished look.

  • Agree – great edit! Am obsessed with the Valentino necklace. Can you tell me where I can buy it? Is it a spring piece?

  • The Valentino necklace is from the spring collection and as soon as it’s available, I will put it in the KiC shop.

  • I agree! This is fantastic. Simple, but new somehow. This gives me something to look forward to once this horrid winter is done with 🙂

  • I am finishing up my end of year clean and feeling so “normal” that I am not the only one thinking about a Spring wardrobe thatsnotmyage mentioned back in November something about a Uniqlo capsule collection from Ines de la Fressange. Would be so interested to see if there are a few “affordable” basics that could be added to my Spring shopping list…thanks for the head start and looking forward to more “ideas” for Spring.
    Happy New Year!!

  • I just bought this Celine bag and love it! I’m trying not to cry too much over the price (Merry Christmas to me) but as my mom used to say, cost per wear! I will use this bag forever 🙂

  • I bought the Celine hobo in the fall ( charcoal color) and ended up returning it.
It was so deep and had no pocket or compartment.
Felt like the black hole! Still think it looks chic though.
How is it for you Paris?
    Happy New Year chicettes!

  • Divine – I am impressed you can wear a camisole, I am looking for a little more arm coverage!

  • Yay to the denim skirt! They’re a classic and I have a small collection of my own I love, my favourite being a plain, slightly a-line wrap 1970s style with little silver buckles and grommeted tabs to fasten it. I usually use a straw basket, though Preston I really like the leather bag alternative you show, for a look more dressy and grown up. For more arm coverage Katie, you could try a tunic style top. Linen tunics with 3/4 sleeves are pretty.

  • I love the necklace, too! Although the price may be prohibitive, it looks like an amazing investment piece that will be coveted by one’s heirs for generations.

  • That necklace is beyond and the skirt is just right.

    Great selections!

  • Spending the holidays in Kailua, gives one a primer on the summer to come.
With the new year, ejecting the old, while refreshing the best of the past! Good ideas!
White sneakers (YSL!) and blue jean skirts (let’s hope we find good choices this coming season!),
pomellato nudo rings (or Hermes), with beautiful tank tops, and we are off
to watch the 20 foot+ waves at Sunset Beach, North Shore. Happy New Year! Blessed 2014!
