Ladylike Cont.

Untitled-1182014

This would be an ideal graduation outfit (if not on a lawn). The classic cut of the Tibi dress is offset by the French terry fabric. And the Alexander Wang shoes are perfection.

  • Perfect suggestion for graduation…I bought the dress last night with the same thought. It is selling out on Net a Porter. A few more sizes on the Tibi web site.

    You blog is amazing!

  • My daughter is also graduating from boarding school but her graduation does take place on the lawn. What do we wear then?

  • I love the fabrication for the dress. A casual fabric is a nice way to dress down a structured, business like dress. Perfect for a day time event. The shoes are gorgeous with it.

  • Both of our children’s high school Honors Day and graduations and also both their colleges convocations were all held outdoors, on the lawn! We experienced everything from hot sun, wind, pouring rain (a college which holds convocation on the Quad, rain or shine–and it poured!! I wore the same ensemble for at least two if not three of these events–a wonderful SS/05 Lida Baday stone color fine cotton tulip skirt with matching belted jacket with a Petite Bateau white boy’s t-shirt, multiple strands pearls, sunglasses, and Chanel cap-toe beige/black patent pumps. But as the weather turned dismal at the college convocation one fine June day, I changed clothes in the backseat of our car–which was parked within view on a campus street–out of my lovely skirt/jacket/shoes and into jeans and a quilted jacket and my old sandals . . . I mean it really poured! All that being said, it was without question one of the most special moments as a parent–the first child’s college convocation. With distinction . . . lots of joy, lots of proud tears, bagpipes . . . the outfit didn’t matter at all. : )
