Great Lengths

I have posted on long-for-day a number of times. Whether to the ankle or long in the back, it’s a trend with more staying power than I expected.

  • A great look, but tricky. It can go dowdy on your if you are not careful. The woman in the top photo looks fantastic.

  • When I first saw the headline and the pic I thought it was about hair length, as this is the exact cut I got last week and it made me feel much better about my sudden decision to chop. Of course then I read further and it’s about skirt length. Either way, the entire look is chic and I like how you could hide some wooly warm tights under a long skirt. • I Like everything about that first shot – apart from the snow!

  • I love the first look with the flat boots. Really like the proportions of that outfit.
But wow…I am imagining that skirt dragging in the slush and road salt of a Canadian winter. Bad enough that I have to clean my boots almost every time I wear them.

  • YES, YES and YES. I’ve been wearing it for years, and in the winter it’s so practical. Just keep it simple and chic!!

  • I love seeing the longer skirts come back. I don’t dislike shorter skirts, but couldn’t believe how long the trend went. There is so much more style in a maxi. The best outcome will be a long period where either length is recognized as stylish. Dowdy is a description of an overall look, I think, and not just the result of one item. Think of how long grey hair can be so chic on one woman, and extremely dowdy on another. Its the whole package that causes that, not just the hair.

  • I’m comfortable wearing long for a beachy look but not a fan for business day wear.

  • A sensational cut in photo #1! Love the juxtaposition of her angular hair with the flowy skirt!!

  • I am debating long for day. Yes for a backyard party, maybe for a casual lunch or dinner, but other than that, I’m not sure. Can’t see myself donning a maxi to run to the grocery store, too much fabric when clothes shopping. So still on the fence.
