Buckle Up

I’m taking a cue from these two Vogue editors-in-chief–  belting a coat, especially when some are so voluminous this season, is an easy way to alter the silhouette.

  • She tapers from the shoulders?..Is Emmanuelle alt not a trendsetter? I think she started the shirt tucked in front of pants. Not sure. And she has consistently belted her huge jackets for a while now.

  • Emmanuelle is smiling! See how young and wonderful everyone looks when they are in New York City. The European cities are beautiful but it is like living in a museum. New York is informal. Diversity is all around. The tastiest restaurant in the least expected place, the most curated shop in the wackiest neighborhood and the nicest most unassuming people all over town.

  • @lorraine: your post made me smile 🙂 :

I certainly was not smiling a lot after hours walking around NYC as a tourist, unable to find this tastiest restaurant in the (no doubt) least expected place 🙂

I do smile a lot in the city I live, Paris, when I stroll through the architectural and art miracles of the city, and it has been 12 years now! I guess smiling is about the moment and mood, and not the location…

  • Inspiring: I need to buckle up and batten down the hatches in this weather!

  • Emmanuelle Alt is my fashion icon! Yes she started the shirt half tucked trend, and has been belting her jackets since last winter. A simple and chic way to change the silhouette. God LOVE her!!!

  • New York has been America’s most glorious and exciting city for all of the reasons listed above. My heart is breaking for it right now–it is not to be taken for granted.

  • Why is your heart “breaking”? Because it’s snowing?? LOL. Did I miss something?

    KellyFebruary 13th, 2014  1:25 PM

  • Ha! Not the snow (let’s hope America’s greatest city can handle a snowstorm). LOL! My concern is for the city’s future, with or without snow–
