The LWD

Valentino & Diane von Furstenberg

Natalia Vodianova looking incredibly chic in Valentino a few seasons ago.  I wonder if Diane von Furstenberg was inspired by this image when she designed the perfect LWD above.

  • This is so chic and effortless! Love! http://madelienerose.com/

  • Natalia just looks fantastic in everything. So chic in that dress! I think the DvF one is a bit short and I wish she wouldn’t do that. Part of the appeal of Natalia’s is the elegant knee length.

  • Agree with Jill…the appeal is in the length. Many of DVF dresses are cut too short for me even though I like the styles. It seems to be a problem with contemporary designers in general. Regardless, the dress is great and Natalia looks amazing.

  • I would like to chime in on the DVF dress length… I generally find them too short

    KathleenMay 16th, 2014  10:04 AM

  • Absolutely agree about the length. Diane and all designers, are you hearing this?

  • I agree that many dresses are cut too short these days. However, I’m 5″5′ and this one may work on me.

  • Love them both, although I do go for a knee length..

  • Right on, and write on about the inconvenient length of most skirts and dresses available. It is not about being prudish, it is all about actual function. While the mid thigh garments look great when one is standing still, who actually ever just stands still? Wardrobe malfunctions may appear as accidentally chic on a starlet, not a mom, exec., volunteer, lady who lunches…to wear the clothes well, and not have to be a slave to them, that is most stylish of all.
