A Step Up

I was up at W magazine yesterday and wondered (too late) if Birkenstocks would be inappropriate. As it turned out, they were fine, but if I’d had these Marni slides, I wouldn’t have been concerned.  Grey felt makes me swoon.

  • Maybe ok in NYC, but in Texas grey felt seems too much for the hot and humidity we are experiencing right now. I still prefer the original Birkenstock look.

  • I wasn’t sold until I scrolled down and saw the whole look. Love! There’s a uniform if I ever saw one.

  • I don’t know…I did have a pair of Tory Burch Revas in gray flannel. These still look like men’s slippers to me.

  • LOVE – In LA could wear most of the year! All I’ve been wearing are Birkenstocks and the IM slides, these could be my winter solution.

  • I assume these to be a fall look, too hot looking for summer. I also like them with the pants and sweater, but I find the metal piece a bit off putting. The clutch looks interesting.

  • Hot and itchy wool in summer? Not in L.A. I like the navy and white Adidas slides.

  • This look is seasonless. I can see wearing the sweater and slides on a warm day or a cool summer night. I could wear that sweater 365 days a year. Love the shoes. Swoon!

  • As always, I appreciate your classic, timeless aesthetic. A uniform for urban life if I ever saw one, but here in Rehoboth Beach I may turn some heads.
