Summer Reading

Here are two books that I can’t wait to take to the beach. I’ve been a Sue Miller fan forever and her new book is getting great reviews, and Robert Galbraith, aka JK Rowling, just released the second book in her private detective Cormoran Strike series.

  • If you haven’t read ” the invention of wings ” yet, by sue monk Kidd, I highly recommend. Best book I’ve read so far this year. Also loved ” the engagements”

  • Just downloaded The Arsonist – I have so many books on my iPad now, I’ll have to get through them! Between the books and Orange is the New Black, I really don’t have time to go to work!

  • I recently finished a Patricia Highsmith novel, Deep Water. Set in the 1950s it is an interesting and entertaining read. She is best known for “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, but a number of her books have been made available on Kindle and she was a recent selection for the WSJ book club. If you like mystery type books enhanced with a retro vibe, they are worth a peek. Also, I read “The Good House” by Ann Leary last summer. Can’t say enough about it, really loved it!
