Pulled Back

I am always looking at how other women pull their long hair back, especially with a center part like mine.

  • I love it, but it’s all about the neck.

  • I like it to, but I remember when my hair was long, I only did it when I wasn’t happy with the way it looked on a particular day. Some woman do it as a regular style ,however, not just an occasional bad hair day remedy. It can look nice on a mature woman who wants t keep her hair long, but in control. Ultimately, I think it is boring as a constant style though and would want to cut it if I didn’t like wearing it long and loose.

  • I’m letting my natural hair color grow in (silvery) and during this transition stage, my hairdresser suggested a bob. Unfortunately I did it, and although it looks good when blown dry by someone else, it’s so high maintenance, and I can’t stand it when I do it myself. Wish I had kept it longer and worn it pulled back, so much more elegant.

  • The hairstyle in the second photo looks beautifully stylish in an understated way. I love it, especially paired with the aviators.

  • Always elegant, can look polished or casual.

  • Both are so chic. The style in the second photo, while effortlessly chic is, I suspect, a professional blow-out and up-do (speaking from experience!!)

  • Like April, when my hair gets long enough that I want to pull it back or put it up all the time, I decide it’s time for a cut!

  • I miss my ponytail 🙁 given up because once I passed the 60 year mark, it became too severe.
Love the shirt in the 2nd photo. Anyone know who s? Thx.

  • I also wear a center part. I just had 2″ cut and will admit my long-ish hair looks and feels much fresher. I think the appeal of the pull back in the photos above is that it can capture that effortless feel and look of style and feels like an accessory itself, but also just so personal as each and every pull back on different women is uniquely their own.
Thanks Preston. I look forward to your contributions and catch up on Saturday mornings.
