The Winter Boot

When I spied these Balenciaga pre-fall boots at the presentation way back when, I saved the collection image to my desktop. I’m always on the lookout for a chic, yet practical, winter boot, which sounds easier to find than it actually is.

Here is a version without the ties.

  • I was JUST eyeing those. I can’t bring myself to spend so much on a winter boot when I know if the weather is THAT bad I am not going out so much. Would love to see any more affordable options for those who need to walk around the city.

  • Those are super chic. Whenever I see leather laces I question whether they will remain tied.

  • Karen – there is actually a simpler pull-on version of these (no laces) – they are great too.

  • I don’t really like them, though I ‘m sure you’ll wear them in the most elegant way… Maybe for a winter trip to the mountains ?

  • Our store has the (simpler) pull-on versions available! Balenciaga only allows Barney’s to sell on-line, so please contact as directly at or 970-544-9946 and we’ll be happy to send photos and info. We agree with Preston – they’re great!

  • I like technical-looking boots, although usually I defer to boots from actual sporting goods producers, if I can find ones I that look good. I find it hard to trust that fashion boots will really keep my feet warm and dry!
