Goldfinger

Goldfinger I dropped off my older daughter at JFK and my younger daughter at the barn, then I hit the couch to recover from a lovely bout of food poisoning. While watching Goldfinger, I am reminded of the character Tilly Masterson’s great style in the famous James Bond film. The grey skirt, white blouse, and Hermes CdC belt is my favorite look. But the headscarf and fisherman knit sweater are really good too. I feel better already.

  • Yikes! I hope you feel better soon.
    Stylish films are good medicine!

  • I love older movies for fashion inspiration and these are fab. Around Halloween I watched “The Haunting of Julia” from 1977 with Mia Farrow. I was surprised at how utterly timeless and chic she looked. Sometimes I think the real kick I get out of watching movies is to see fabulous kitchens and clothes.

  • I only wish dressing were still this simple. This formula works every time–less really is more!

  • Hope you’re feeling better. Food poisoning is so awful. When I get it I take Trifala which is a great ayurvedic remedy.

    As for Tilly Masterson: Fabulous!

  • This classic look is truly timeless, and the “less is more” philosophy was always what my mother taught us. “Editing” is my watchword, and Keep It Chic is a wonderful guide for understated elegance without looking boring. Thank you, Preston. Hope you’re feeling much better.

  • I must say, I love that this heroine is also competent in handling her firearms! As a female shooting enthusiast, I wish Vogue could get on board with editorials of women in the field at at the target practice! I say, you go girl!
