On Record

Last year we gave our older daughter a turntable for Christmas. Like the gift that keeps on giving, it has made shopping for presents for her this year very easy. I have a long list of albums, Banks’ “Goddess” is at the top.

  • We gave my son the same gift last year and this year it is an upgrade on his father’s old receiver. My mother-in-law gave him an old vinyl album of Christmas stalwarts and the sound is wonderful! Music is a great gift.

  • Biggest mistake I EVER made getting rid of my albums!!! All that Nils Lofgren, Foreigner….sickens me every time I think about it. What a great gift! Best memories ever……If

  • My husband and my album collection dates from about 1968 and is quite large. Our albums and my turntable have taken a lot of storage space in our home for decades, but starting when our children were young, we would always play albums and look at all of our old slide shows after dinner many nights during their Christmas and Thanksgiving breaks. The tradition continues to the present.

  • I don’t have a turntable anymore, but I have a lot of 70’s and later albums. I really don’t want to make space for them, so they are just stacked in a closet. I don’t see me really integrating them into my life now, so I’d like to sell/donate them. I suspect some of them may be warped at this point; but if not, I’d like to see them with someone who will use and enjoy them.
