It Items

Crossed Off My List

Celine, Saint Laurent

It’s now or never for some of the items that have been sitting on my list. So, when the sales hit, I snapped up the Saint Laurent Fair Isle sweater and Prabal Gurung scarf, two items I’ve had my eye on since last summer. I’m surprised that they were still around. However, I waited too long on the Céline hobo in chamois and it was long gone by the time I went to buy it. Instead, I picked up this one in beige and black—I’ve seen a number of spring bags in this color combo so I’m feeling a bit ahead of the fashion curve. And yes, I bought the platforms. Amanda Ross calls them my “Monster Mash” shoes, but they are a moment of madness I don’t regret. I bet I’ll wear them often in the spring.

  • These platforms are amazing. I hope next spring there will be lots of less expensive versions!

  • I love the sweater. I liked a lot of the fair isle sweaters I saw this year, but many of them had the pattern going around the body at undesirable points. This one with the pattern limited to the top is just the right, in my opinion.

  • i ordered the fair isle sweater too and i am anxiously waiting for it to be delivered on tuesday! how do they run? i’m normally a medium, but the description on net-a-porter seemed like they run small so I ordered a large and an extra large. (“cropped” normally isn’t my thing.) i also have the celine bag in gray. don’t tell me it was on sale!!

  • also – i made a rule this sale season that i wasn’t allowed to buy anything i didn’t have my eye on before it went on sale. i essentially just shopped the sales from my wish list and from your shop and i bought some great items that i hopefully won’t regret!

  • I think the sweater is gorgeous too and I have also just bought it in the sale. I think it may still be around as the wool is a bit itchy – I had swung a bit on it for this reason. However over a thin cashmere layer it’s perfect.

  • I wear the Saint Laurent sweater over a J. Crew grey merino turtleneck which solves the itchiness and cropped issues. And no, the Céline pieces were not on sale.
