Valentino Couture

The White Collection

The Valentino designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, showed for the first time in New York last evening. The couture presentation of all white looks, an homage to the iconic 1968 white collection, was held at the former Whitney Museum of Art. I’ll take one of each, please.

  • When I remarried, about 12 years ago, I almost bought a white Valentino knee length dress, but thought it was too costly for a “one time” dress. I was living in NY, and I don’t think LWDs were worn then? Have always regretted my decision, and love each of the pieces above.

  • I watched the live show, and it was beautiful, truly special. The accessories were a standout for me, the booties, gold-heeled sandals and those metal lozenge minaudière, sigh.

  • What a collection, so utterly beautiful. I saw the Valentino retrospective when it came to my home town, it included two dresses from the 1968 white collection -Jackie Onassis’ wedding dress and Audrey Hepburn’s dress.

  • The line is absolutely stunning and sophisticated. It’s a fresh modern look on white with a reflection of history! I must have in my wardrobe.

  • It was a truly stunning collection, despite what everyone claims I still adore Valentino. The fact that they did an all white collection (as opposed to the iconic red) is simply genius !

  • This is the most stunning collection I have seen in a long time. I agree with the other commenter, I have got to get one of those dresses for spring.
