Chloé pre-fall

Short Over Long

Chloe

While editing the list of spring items I’ve had my eye on, I’m also considering a few styling tricks to update my current uniform. Now that it’s January, I want to hit the refresh button on my wardrobe without buying any new fall pieces. I keep coming back to the Chloé pre-fall collection with the elbow-length sweaters and tops layered over blouses, a look I’m going to adopt.

  • I bought the Emerson Fry gray elbow length topper early this season and I’ve worn it way more often than I would have thought. I love the look, and would now not hesitate to invest in another, finer one. It’s very good for LA weather as well. I love both pieces you’ve shown, particularly the top one. Great drape.

  • I love the versatility of these looks! 70’s style modernised. And navy flares please – been looking for some for an age!
Thank you Preston for doing what you do – Happy New Year to all!

  • I like this look a lot too, though it’s not ideal for freezing weather. Also the proportion can be tricky if you’re a bit top-heavy.

  • Chloé is very inspirational lately, and I love their 70s inspired prefall. I love the first look, but I wonder if this would be as nice in real life, as short over long can look quite heavy in my opinion !

  • I love these looks, especially the mustard colored dress with the cream blouse. I used to wear my fitted sweaters with sleeves pushed up over blouses all the time, but I love the loose, unstructured look of this dress over the flowy blouse. Thanks again for the inspiration!

  • Hi Preston,
So enjoy your blog! Noting “Chloe pre-fall,” I wonder if you could list the different fashion seasons and when they typically become available in the stores? Thanks.
