‘The Obsessions’

Self Service

This is a story that I would expect to see on a teenager so, it’s refreshing that it’s on 37 year-old Malgosia Bela. Fashion can be ageless.

  • I agree that the model looks stunning (though she probably looks stunning in a trash bag), but if I saw a woman over the age of 30 wearing anything from this story other than the unripped jeans, I would assume she was in a band or owned a jewelry store in Malibu. Meh.

  • Love the second photo – that dress and the shoes are great.

  • Oh goodness those legs in picture #2….why wouldn’t everything look amazing on her? Lovely post Preston!

  • she looks fantastic ! Can’t decide if the story really is ageless though…. I try not to make too many rules about age and clothes. .. She is rockin it, I don’t think I could or would.

  • For me, the “fashion” is about pieces–the circle belt, the jeans in the 3rd picture, and the pendants with a black ribbed top are all really good.

  • I think what is ageless here is the model. She wears the clothes beautifully, whatever her age! Sadly (or not), for me, I am way, way past torn jeans, bell bottoms, bare midriffs, fringe vests, tank tops, and see through/braless tops. Maybe if I lived in a commune I could get away with this. Loro Piana makes a handsome suede belt similar to the model’s, and it is indeed ageless.

  • Who makes the black dress?

  • I agree with you Preston about what makes the fashion story, but I actually had a jolt of recognition with the last shot– I am sure there is a picture of me somewhere with a scarily similar pose from the original decade (never to be repeated). What a strange feeling…..

  • Ohhh tell me you didn’t mean 37 is ‘old’ ….

    GayleMarch 5th, 2015  2:45 PM

  • I meant that 37 is not 17…

  • I like a lot of the pieces! Agree that I would, of course, style it differently. Love the kimono-ish jacket–is that leather?

  • The dress is Chloe and the shoes are Prada.
