Alex Katz

The Alex Katz exhibition at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise gallery tops my to-see list. I’ll go downtown on Friday to skip the weekend crowds.

  • Wish I had known – have fun, should be great.

  • I keep looking at these wondering if it’s a transition from day to night, or if they are different houses. Did you randomly choose these two paintings, or are they related? There is something deceptively childlike about the brush strokes and composition. They are wonderful.

  • Thank you for sharing. What a wonderful show. I loved the Alex Katz exhibit I saw in Boston at the MFA a few years ago. I think it was Boston.
He is one of my favorite 60s artists but this later work is great too!

  • These are all gorgeous! I love how saturated the color is in the first one. Love the pop of bright yellow in there too.
