In Vogue Paris

Sport Inspired

In the summer, I often wear a tennis skirt while I run errands long after I’ve left the court. So, it’s no surprise that I’ve embraced the sport-inspired trend. These pictures of Julia Bergshoeff are from the August issue of Vogue Paris.

  • I hope the “athleisure” trend stays around a long time. It’s great to be comfortable and put together when running errands or having a casual work day.

  • This looks chic AND comfortable – a stellar combination. Stepped-up athleisure has become my favorite look, and I’ve noticed women of all ages embracing the trend. Maybe this is why all the fashion editors are frantically pushing denim.

  • Love all the looks and the whole concept. The Nikes in the first picture are fabulous.

  • Any idea who makes the grey turtleneck in the first picture? Looking for one….

  • Just this evening, on our drive home from the golf course, I predicted to my daughter that the LuLu Lemon/athleisure wave is currently peaking and trend will lose it’s appeal soon. I don’t have any evidence other than I am personally extremely weary of lycra, leggings, sneakers and faux-athletic clothing disguised as street wear. My 20-something daughter said she ‘misses’ all of her great sweaters, skirts and dresses in her closet (collected in college), and that wearing exercise clothes has become boring and everyone looks alike. I’ll take a cashmere sweater + slacks + Tod’s driving shoe or an ankle boot + scarf + bag + a nice glove any day!

  • I try to get out of my exercise gear as soon as possible. I have many great clothes to wear why stay in your gym gear all day ?
