FW15 Collection

Perfectly Prada

So, here’s what I love about Prada FW15: the trim jackets paired with cropped pants—yep high waters, my favorite length. And the colors are divine. These are highly wearable silhouettes.

  • Although this looks great on the models, I always thought cropped lengths were to be avoided on shorter women or else they end up looking like “mom capris” (and I say that as a mom). I wonder if the trick is (a) to have nice ankles and (b) to wear this with ankle strap heels. For shorter women, they probably wouldn’t work with flats.

  • Love the length of the pants, and I agree, the colors are amazing.

  • I love, love, love (sorry!) this length and at 5’6 have always worn it with mid heel ankle boots that are tight around the ankle and flats that are chunkier like an oxford or blucher. The only proportion I’m not crazy about in the photo above is the grey jacket: I think the double breasted short length hitting juuuuust at the thigh is better but otherwise they are all going to be my look this fall.

  • The Prada FW 15 collection was one of my favorites for exactly those reasons. Great tailoring and amazing colors! I think the cropped flare looks best with a chunky heel and those Mary Janes are superb. I was safe and got them in black but am considering exchanging them for a color…like grey or silver.

  • Can I get some advice on how one wears cropped? How far above the ankle? What’s the trick to wearing them with an ankle boot? Any other shoe or pant length advice? Thank you!

  • I just found my fall uniform- loved this look too, Preston! I’m 5’6″ and I would totally wear this. Thanks for the inspiring posts.
    Happy Wednesday!

  • I think the tailoring that puts the pants outside of the “mom Capri” box is that they’re fitted through the hip and thigh and they have a slight flare at the end. “Mom capris” always are loose in the back side and they have two buttons on the cuff. >^_^<

I think that even shorter women would be able to carry these pants off.

  • Completely agree- the retro colours and the cropped trouser length are fab

  • I love them with the longer coats (the two on the left), but with the short jackets (especially the far right pic and the one on top), they seem to make even the gorgeous models look a little wide in the hip – so I can only imagine what they would do to a mere mortal.

  • Echoing Susan’s request above for guidance. Also on Jeans — do you always keep the original hem when shortening? As model tall, it’s challenging to get the length “right”. Mouse
