  • Pea gravel, wrought iron, hotel silver, and a knock out dress (top photo)! This model is adorable. My idea of fabulous fashion photography.

  • Lupita was born in Mexico, not Kenia. Love this post.

  • I meant Kenya.

    Martha ElenaSeptember 23rd, 2015  7:27 AM

  • She self identifies as Mexican-Kenyan. Vogue referred to her as Kenyan in the article and she talks about her upbringing in Nairobi. Although she was born in Mexico, Lupita moved to Kenya at age one.

  • ‘Self identifying’ has become our national pastime. Perhaps if we all could pause from constantly ‘identifying’ ourselves and others as this, that and the other thing, we could better appreciate accomplishments and evaluate more on merit.

    PaulaSeptember 23rd, 2015  11:02 AM

  • Self-identification is about empowerment. There is nothing wrong with vocally asserting your own sense of self and refusing to accept the definition of others.

I do love this lady and I am so pleased with Anna Wintour’s efforts to be more inclusive in how vogue defines beauty. Very proud of Ms. Wintour and so happy that American Vogue reflects all of America!!

  • Love Lupita and these beautiful photographs. In the second one it almost looks like she flew up to perch on the back of the sofa.
