Exiting Dior

Raf Simons

Belgian designer Raf Simon’s decision to leave Dior makes me very sad, I love what he’s done at the fabled French house.

  • I know, it has completely shocked me… I don’t why there is such a turn-over, I think it’s really sad.
But I can’t wait to know who will replace him !

  • I loved it too but I also loved what he did at Jil Sander and I’m sure I’ll love what he does next. I’m sorry he’s going but I what creatives would really want to produce so many collections year after year? We all need space for ideas to gestate and creativity to flourish over time. If fame and money are not as important as the ability to express our true selves to the best of our ability, then staying long-term at a conglomerate like Dior is not an option. I wish him well.

  • I feel the same…I love his aesthetic. I really hope he is not long gone from the scene.

  • I was really surprised about this, too. Did you see the film?

  • So sad. He made Dior modern and delicious. Looking forward to seeing what he does next, and actually what Dior does next.

  • I’ve admired Raf’s work for Dior so much, particularly after seeing the film. It was a brilliant look at the creative process and how he evolved some of the signature elements of the Dior house in his own way, making the best and most modern use of its amazing artisans.
