  • Gorgeous!~ Preston, for what it’s worth, I adore the concept of a more fitted version of Olatz (or whomever’s) black satin tuxedo pajamas (or just the pants!) with a gorgeous, perhaps metallic or jeweled, 50mm (or flat) mule over a slightly visible, but not slinky camisole as your hostess outfit. Or ditch the PJ top which can be overwhelming for an easy featherweight cashmere top. Alternatively, and perhaps preferably, maybe a silk bias long skirt with a delicate, but unfussy, cashmere top as your hostess outfit. I love that look when the wearer clearly feels easy, breezy comfortable – youthful, but sophisticated and timeless.

I confess after your confession of feeling that the Balenciaga dress felt too “mumsy” when worn alone, that was the first word that popped into my head when I saw the Tahari skirt in print (which I admit I have yet to see in person).

I hate to say it, but honestly I thought white Milly crochet cover up was the star of the entire BG Book – and that’s an annual resort repeat piece!

  • The shirt with the black lace applique is perfection, with or without the piped jacket!

  • And of course, Julian Schnabel wears them out all the time!

  • I like piping on porch cushions, baby clothes, and Belgian shoes, but not so much on my own clothing. Having a hard time thinking where any of these looks would really be right.

  • I’m with Julian Schnabel and Kate Moss – love this idea. Gorgeous shoot, I was looking for a PJ-style top in NYC but couldn’t really find what I was looking for & didn’t have v much time. Do you know where the third and fifth outfits are from Preston? Thanks x
