Like A Fine Wine

If you’re a burgundy fan, this Valentino patent pump has got your name on it. I’m pulling out my Tangos for a repeat performance this fall—they feel fresh, again.

  • I LOVE the look of these shoes. I bought them in black about 2 years ago. They hurt my feet so bad i want to cry, and am thinking about selling them (they’re hardly worn). I did buy up half a size, but they cut into the side of my foot (at about 2’clock on my left foot – or 10 o’clock on my right foot – if my foot were the face of a clock). Any ideas on how to ease this pain, because I’d love to wear them again!

  • I so wish they’d offer these in calfskin or another leather that’s not patent. It would be softer (to Lily’s point above) and some of us don’t love the look of patent. They offered them in regular leather the first season and never again! That’s what I get for hestitating — but I’m watching and wishing every season.

  • OMG Lily, I have the exact pain and blister at the 10 and 2 o’clock on my first time wearing the shoes. I haven’t worn it since. Maybe I’m going to wear sport tape on the offending areas and see if it helps.

  • I too bought them in my size and up a size but both were sooo uncomfortable I returned. Too bad. They are beautiful.

  • I’ve noticed similar pain (in my calf leathers) but only after my inserts have started to run down, allowing too much extra space in the shoe. Leaves me to assume it has to do with a loose/not snug-enough fit. Try inserts.
