Evening Solved

I’m not a big evening wear gal, so when I see a dress that I like, I buy it—regardless of whether I have an upcoming event or not. This dress suits me and would never go out of style. It works with any-and-all accessories and has just enough sleeve.

I’ve had my eye on the Jimmy Choo velvet pumps since July…

Dress, velvet pump, bags, sandal.

  • Buy it now . . . when you need it you will never find it. I never sell or part with fine evening pieces. I love a beautiful dress, but I have also collected fabulous evening separates – tops, skirts, pants, a dress cardigan, wraps . . . these pieces live on and on and grow better by the year. Asprey once did ready-to-wear, and I had the good fortune to pick up a short, full black tulle skirt with grosgrain waistband that could go into the next century.

  • Beautiful selection! I’ve had my eye on the green Marni bag this season. It’s such a gorgeous shade paired with the warm gold chain.

  • That dress is even more beautiful on – I went to the link. All the accessories are gorgeous too and I think the dress is definitely timeless.

  • I love all your picks here. I agree with Kathy, seeing the dress on a model makes it look even more elegant. I don’t know how others feel, but I love seeing dresses with sleeves come back. I understand the appeal of sleeveless, but sleeves do more than cover up arms, they add style!

  • Can we talk about underpinnings? I don’t see a way to wear a bra with that dress. Perhaps a strapless bustier style would work. maybe??
