The Micro-Mini Bag

Spotted on a number of runways in Paris (Valentino- the show was sublime, Céline, and Hermès)—the micro-mini bag looks to be a SS17 trend.

  • Love the white one as it looks actually functional. The others seem more decorative?

  • I love the entire outfit in the top image. Lovely!

  • I think the Valentino bag is actually an iPhone case with a chain…

  • I don’t think it’s large enough for an iPhone–looks more like a compact.

  • A couple years ago I bought the cute little chanel iPhone holder bag Big mistake. My iPhone no longer fits in it and it holds nothing. These bags are ridiculous! Anything smaller than the chanel wallet on a chain makes no sense!

  • To my eye, these micro bags read ‘jewelry/accessory’ rather than ‘handbag.’ Attractive looking accessory, but can they function in any way? These seem designed for the woman whose driver is waiting outside, who doesn’t pay for anything, and who never sneezes. I would never step out without a cell phone, cash, and lipstick.

  • . . . and a D. Porthault handkerchief.

  • I love the look of the dress and bag in the first shot. Although lovely it looks like a very long square locket. Maybe we’ll all start wearing cross-body necklaces? But like Paula I’d still need a real bag with at least the minimum of necessities.

  • I have a purple pouch bag…. it looks great-offers a touch of colour and stops me hauling a lot of unnecessary stuff around.
It’s also eye catching as few people carry one. I can see how this look could become popular if marketed the right way….
    ……ergonomically good too…..!

  • It has that Victorian chatelaine/reticule feel! Reminds me of pre-Raphaelite paintings, with a modern touch.

  • I have a toy sac de jour and although I can fit keys, lipstick and money/cards, my phone sticks out, he trend for smaller bags doesn’t translate well with the bigger phones of today!! I need a tiny flip phone for these tiny bags.

  • I LOVE the Valentino one! It’s an adorable lipstick holder – crazy but fun!

  • Just ordered the Simon Miller mini bucket bags in both colors from your site. I think they’re adorable, give a nod to the mini bag which is very useful if it holds a phone, glasses, and some money for evening.

  • I would love to have the Valentino.
