Movie Day
A movie after Christmas dinner is a family tradition. This year the consensus was to see “La La Land”, but it was sold out. Instead, we watched “Captain Fantastic” at home, which was even more fun. None of us had seen it and I wouldn’t let anyone read a synopsis beforehand–what a story. These three movies are on my to-see list and I’ll try to get one in today before we take off.
“Manchester By The Sea” is a raw, sad, and at times, funny film–Casey Affleck deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of a truly broken man.
Captain Fantastic is, by far, one of my most favorite films -ever. Wonderous story telling and touching, poignant performances. Perfection.
Thank you for recommending this movie, Preston. I live in a smaller “capital” and could not find a movie that I wanted to see, so my hubby went to rent Captain Fantastic and we both loved it. This is my kind of movies. Makes you think about things.
I read a synopsis of Captain Fantastic…it did NOT make me want to see that film! On the other hand, we saw La La Land yesterday – I don’t know if I agree with the raves I’ve read, but it was thoroughly enjoyable and I recommend it! My husband and I both liked it! Emma Stone was wonderful…
