Blue Notes

A complete and utter Smythson nut, I have engraved note cards in Nile and writing paper in Bond Street Blue. I order twice as many cards as envelopes and use the extras for quick notes and to tuck in with gifts.

Stamps are a major part of a letter’s appeal and I’m excited for the ones honoring Oscar de la Renta out later this year.

  • Love Smythsons but also Printery. Both have minderful selecton of many nogram possibilties. Demspsey and. Carroll and Pickett’s Press too… as a stationery addict, can’t have enough! Stamps look fun!

  • Gorgeous stamps! Can’t wait to use them! I will keep a sheet though, because I don’t want to give them all away.

  • Finding beautiful and interesting stamps has become challenging – in recent history, stamps have become the equivalent of political bumper stickers, promoting causes, activists, so-called ‘celebrities,’ movements, etc. Plus, they have gotten so small as to look cheap on an envelope. The Oscar stamps look lovely; I hope they are large enough to make a statement.

  • I love getting fun stationary at The Paper Queen from Vancouver. The Sarah Vaughan stamp is beautiful as well!

  • I send Mothers Day cards each year to those who are in my circle of trust. I always pick out a pretty stamp and coordinate it to the cards I choose…this year I will get the stamps first and I may just let them do the talking on a simple envelope…so beautiful!
