Grey Area

Some of my pieces of furniture have not been updated since my children were toddling around. Needless to say, that wasn’t yesterday. I just popped this picture from Veranda into my home inspiration folder.

  • When I freshened up my living room a few years ago I purchased a tuxedo style sofa and covered it in a dove grey. It feels elegant while being very comfortable.

  • Love the coffee table and monochromatic scheme. Nice for chapter 2 home decor (sans enfants).

  • Love grey! We just redid our kitchen and family room after several years of being empty nesters ! I must admit it has cheered things up considerably, took some convincing but I finally got my better half to agree to a very nice warm grey for our countertops!

  • Love that it’s grey velvet, looks so sumptuous.

  • Hi Preston. LOVE. I, too have a sofa in a similar style and this same shade of grey. Ultrasuede. It’s very “Halston” chic and super durable….

  • IDing those paintings is driving me crazy. It looks like they are blowout sketches of famous paintings that I have seen in an European museum but which ones?
    I like the concept.

  • When we redecorated after the children left our mantra was elegant and calm with touches of the unexpected. Grey played a big role. Still love all of it.

  • Lovely! My husband and I bought similar-colored chaise longues for our living room 8 years ago and the color still feels fresh.

  • I love grey with blue and white accents. Modern, but still warm.

  • There are some clever colour juxtapositions here. I love the painting and how it frames the sofa.
The fireplace looks exquisite and to be a tad poetic- the blue and white are a cool but stylish colouring addition which whilst not vividly vibrant offers a blue highlight peaking through a grey ” sky”….
