Andrea Linett

I have known Andrea for a fashion eternity. Years ago, we shared an office when we were both fashion writers at Harper’s Bazaar under Liz Tilberis. Andrea was the downtown yin to my more uptown yang. She’s the ultimate Lower East Side girl: bohemian, a little funky, and always in-the-know about what’s new and next. For years, she was the Creative Director at Lucky magazine (I worked with her there briefly), and now has the same title at eBay, where she is upping the fashion ante. (She also, in her spare time, has a blog, Iwanttobeher.com) What else can I say, love her to bits!

Style motto: Always stay true to yourself. But always have fun (experimenting just a little with other people’s looks keeps things exciting!)

Go-to outfit: Jeans or other skinny pants, boots, blazer, long tee. Designers: Martin, Rick Owens, Vintage, Gary Graham, Zara, + J from Uniqlo.

On your wrist: My left wrist: Hermès Boucle Sellier silver bracelet from my husband, a red thread through a gold chain Kabbalah bracelet from my sister and a 1970s gold Rolex. My right: Lori Leven gold bamboo bracelet and old diamond tennis bracelet from the pawn shop.

First Ebay purchase: I have no clue. It’s been forever. But some of my favorties are my sterling silver Hermès Medor watch, a tree stump coffee table, brass snake candle sticks, Martin Margiela boots that I had missed out on at the store, a and 1965 poster from a French motorcycle race.

Most recent Ebay purchase: A The Band tee shirt and ladylike pearl cluster earrings (an example of playing with someone else’s style…)

Hostess gift: An oversize hourglass or succulent, both from Love, Adorned.

Lunch spot: The Smile or Earth Matters.

Favorite night out: A casual dinner with my husband and our friends. Every Tuesday I eat at Lil Frankie’s with my friend David Rees of tenthousandthings.

3 Beauty essentials: Patricia Wexler Dual Action Foaming Cleanser, Guerlain bronzer (it’s completely matte) Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer.

Favorite home away from home: Saint Bart’s and the Four Seasons, Los Angeles

Cause: The Smile Train and St. Jude Children’s Hospital

One week without: Laughing, some kind of exercise, pasta, window shopping, bad TV, beer and wine

One month without: Shopping
