Don’t forget the details!

We all know it is the small details that count. Super stylish women really get this and incorporate the idea into their everyday dress. These are things I often mean to do, but forget.  Going forward, I am going to  copy these ideas, again and again. It works for them….

1. Belt your blazer. As the gorgeous Parisian women’s wear designer for Vuitton, Julie de Libran does, above.

2. Wear your jacket over your shoulders, more like a wrap.

3. Mega-cuff your jeans.

4. Tuck in your T-shirt, only at the belly button, not the sides and back.

Crazy for Navy

Nine d'Urso from her mother Ines de la Fressange's Parisian Chic style guide

The Celine clutch I just bought is in fact navy and it has become a touchstone for my spring wardrobe. Usually I cannot pass a pair of dark brown sandals without pausing and a black shift dress is a summer must-have. Not now. In Barneys shoe salon yesterday I sailed right past all the shades of brown and black and as hard as the new sandals tried to woo me with their siren songs, I did not even stop. On my list is a Balmain pea coat (navy), K. Jacques sandals (navy), a J. Crew cashmere sweater (navy) and a Valentino denim dress (navy). It is certainly not new or even news, but navy feels fresh right now.
