I Feel Pretty

The last few days have been blisteringly hot (hopefully not foreshadowing a scorcher of a summer), so I pulled out my little cotton dresses. The ones I love best right now are pretty and a bit feminine, not my usual A-line shifts.

A few weeks ago I posted on the fact that I prefer to run-around in pants and a reader reminded me that dresses really are easy and make you look pulled together, even when just popping into to the market.

  • Totally agree about the run-around dress during the summer months. You can throw on a cute maxi or tank dress and sandals, pull hair into a ponytail, add some earrings and great sunglasses – and go!!!

  • I’ve finally realized dresses are the easy & chic way to go in the summer. Cute dress, flip flops or a shiny pair of Jack Rogers & you’re good to go from camp pick up to fun dinner out. Looking forward to your always chic recommendations to add to my closet! Laura from http://www.cocktailsandgelato.com

  • I am all about dresses for Summer, actually for all year long! I am bad with separates.. so many things to worry about. Give me a dress any day of the week. I am loving that Anya bag.. Now that is going on my wish list.

  • Love pretty summer dresses, especially in breezy white eyelet. Maxi dresses are extremely easy and comfortable, although they are starting to look a bit tired and dated to me. Now I am off to peruse virtual sale racks in search of pretty white dresses.

  • Totally agree with everyone about summer dresses! It is wonderful to have the versatility to change the look of an outfit just by the choice of your shoes! Flats for fun and heels for evening! Simple, chic, and comfy as well!!

  • I’ve been blessed with many things, but blemish free legs weren’t one of them. Bare legs are not my strong suit. Otherwise, I would do the short dress thing all summer long. The long dress, a bit perhaps. Anyway, I love the sandals ( I do have good looking feet, if I say so myself) and the tote!

  • I agree with April that easy breezy dresses are not always so if you can’t throw one on without camouflage (my particular issue being larger top than bottom). I am having a devil of a time finding black linen pants this summer–nice ones though with perhaps a silk blend and nice sheen to them to go with a plethora of beautiful tops. Any ideas anyone?

  • Love the look…you are such an inspiration for a look that is relaxed, but not sloppy. I can’t find the tote in the US …any ideas?
