Katniss Fever

I know, I know, but I have two teenaged girls. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens tomorrow and we cannot wait to see it. I am a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan after Silver Linings Playbook, and I like that Katniss is a brave, smart, kind, and persevering character; not a bad role model.
I was at Net-a-Porter the other day and previewed their collaborative collection with Trish Summerville, the Hunger Games’ costume designer. She designed 19 pieces of rtw, jewelry, and leather goods to celebrate the film’s launch tomorrow.

I agree about Jennifer Lawrence. I hope she can maintain her realness under the microscope of Hollywood.
While I appreciate that she is a strong girl the underlying message of the first movie so disturbed me that I will not read or see any others. Are we so numb to the hatred in our world that children hunting and killing each other does not make us sick.
I realize I am in the minority when it comes to not supporting the dispiciplable behavior that Hollywood promotes and profits from.

Ps I really like your fashion stuff just had to get that off my chest
Susan, I think that’s where the storyline goes– people wake up to the atrocity of the games and push back. A classic good trumping evil story.
Love Katniss and the movie’s anti totalitarian message. Jennifer Lawrence is adorable!
