Editorial

In her first story as a stylist for British Vogue, Kate Moss was inspired by 70s cult band Destroy All Monsters’ reckless glamour. Mert and Marcus photographed Daria, the perfect girl for this shoot. Many models have become great editors, and Kate is sure to be one of them.

A friend of mine (who’s a longtime football/conditioning coach) and I were talking yesterday about how the most successful people in sports or business, or life, are like sponges and the best listeners. I’ve never been Kate Moss’s biggest fan but if her editorial career continues to show that she has absorbed all the best that this feature celebrates then I admit I’m impressed.
For me, for Kate Moss to be a great editor she needs to go beyond her personal style. This shoot was too much a reflection of her, its too expected – if someone knows rock n roll, its her, so I was a bit bored by it.
I hope her next round will be more of a stretch creatively.
Daria is the PERFECT choice for this editorial and I love the hair. Kate created just the right mood to showcase these dresses. I look forward to seeing if she will branch beyond her rock ‘n roll roots. My money is on her!!
